The annual food event was as tasty as ever! Over 50 eateries, wineries and breweries participated in the fundraiser aimed at supporting young literacy in Huntington Beach. TV Food's Simon Majumdar once again for the second year was the main food judge in the house.

Each year the Therapeutic Riding Club ( TRC ) uses the backdrop of the famed Kentucky Derby to raise funds for the organization, complete with Mint Julips, face painting, decorating horse shoes, and watching the Kentucky Derby live; voting on who will win!

Great opportunity for kids to learn about Science, through the simplistic approach of building a rocket and then blasting they're soda bottles off into orbit, right on the grounds of the Boeing Company. Real NASA folk weres on hand as well as Mayor Barbara Delgleize.

The program that exposes young people to police, fire, marine and emergency services needs dollars in to help pay for additional costs, and maybe build a new building. Here, at this very well attended event, even the Huntington Beach Police helicopter, HB1, touched down on the grounds of the Senior Center in Central Park. There were many professional law enforcement personnel at the Senior Center in Central Park event that were alumni of the Explorer program.

The beginnings of a three-part series of art exhibits focusing on the women in the arts. With Crossing Boundaries, 4 female artists created works of art that includes other influences - within the art itself - whether that be music or nature.

Those ugly utility boxes...their days are numbered in Huntington Beach! With the creation of the Huntington Beach Public Art Alliance, a competition was fostered with local HBHS art students to come up with 10 winning designs so that utility boxes could be wrapped and never be ignored ever again! The first one was held on the HB Pier, complete with an unveiling ceremony with City, County and State recognitions.
