Description
“… art is a mirror held up to nature… “ The artwork harmonizes with the natural environment of Central Park honoring the iconic architecture of Huntington Beach Central Library. Exploring nature’s horizontal plane of reflection, a reference to the conceptual design of the library, the artwork was inspired by a photo of the library reflected in the adjacent pool and the architectural character of the library. The installation reveals connections between nature, water, the built world, and humans. Park visitors are welcomed to pause and connect to the energy of the natural world reflected in the artwork and to one another visiting the park. Crafted of etched bronze and hand-finished stainless steel, the textures, planes, and curves of the installation offer ever-changing reflections of light, nature, and passersby. The piece is thoughtfully scaled and sited in relation to pathways, sightlines, and the Secret Garden.
