Home Based Business License Application

How to Submit Online Application for Business License

Login to your Account:

You may submit an online business license application for 2 types of businesses:

• Home Based Business
• Out of City contractor

To apply for a license type not listed, please call or email our office.

 

To apply for a Home Based Business License

Both of the following must apply to you and/or your business:

• • • You live in Huntington Beach
    • You do not have a physical business location outside of your residence

Instructions:

From the Home page, select the Business License tab

 

 

• Click Create an Application
  
  
  
  
  

  
• Read the General Disclaimer in full and click the box to accept.
  
  
  
  
  

  
• When you have completed each section, you must click Continue Application to proceed to the next section of the online application.
• Select the Record Type Home Based Business, then click Continue Application to proceed
  
  
  
  
  

  

 

Step 1: People> Contact Details

• Click Add New to create a new contact
  
  
  
  
  

  
• A window will pop-up for you to enter all required information
  
  
  
  
  

  

OR

• Click Select from Account
  
  
  
  
  

  
• The information of the person logged in will be added as a contact
  
  
  
  
  

  
• Click Continue Application
  
  
  
  
  

  

Step 2: Location> Location Details

• Enter in the address (street no. and street name) of your residence and click Search
  
  
  
• If there is only one result for the address, the information will populate into the fields:
  
  
  
• If there are multiple results for the address, a pop-up will appear with a list:
  • Mark your correct address, then click Select.
    
    
    
• Click Continue Application once you have confirmed the address.
  
  
  

Step 3: Information> Details

• Read the Home Occupation conditions: 
  
  
  
  
  
  • This box must be checked in order to proceed with your application
• The fields outlined in red below are required.
• If you do not provide the information, you will receive an error message when selecting Continue Application:
  
  
  
• In this section, complete all the fields that apply.  You must select at least one.  Then click  Continue Application
  
  
  

Step 4: Documents> Documents

You must complete and upload the Application for Home Based Business License

• Click on the blue link:
  
  
  
  
  
  • This form will come up:
    
    
    
• Complete both pages of the application
• Save the completed form to your computer
• Click Add
  
  
  
• Click Add again
  
  
  
• Click Continue
  
  
  
• Indicate that you have attached an Application
  
  
  
• Provide a Detailed Description of Business Activity and click Save
  
  
  
• Then click Continue Application
  
  
  

Step 5: Review

• Review all the information you have provided
  • If anything is incorrect, click Edit
    
    
    
• After scrolling through all the information and verifying everything is correct, at the bottom of the page:
  • Read the disclaimer
  • Click the checkbox
  • Click Continue Application
    
    
    

Step 6:  Pay Fees

• Click Continue Application to proceed to the payment page
