Another important function of this Division is to ensure proper control over cash and negotiable items, as well as, collection of all delinquent taxes and fees. Accounts Receivable/Collections is responsible for ensuring all revenues owed to the City are received and may use a variety of methods to collect these funds, including sending delinquent notices, making collections calls, placing a lien on property, filing a claim in Small Claims Court or sending delinquent receivables to an outside collection agency. The Division is also responsible for disbursing all approved funds and processing all checks and electronic payments for the payment of goods and services approved in the budget and the City’s financial system.
