As a longtime resident of Huntington Beach, Erik Peterson has seen the city grow and flourish. Elected to the city council in fall 2014, he wants to keep Huntington Beach one of the best places to live. Erik and his wife Brandi have two sons and plan to retire in Huntington Beach some day. In 2005, Erik opened his own company in the interconnect/networking industry and made Huntington Beach its central location with a small branch office in San Diego.
Erik has given back to our country and our community. In 1991, he joined the Marine Corps where he served for five years and received an Honorable Discharge. Locally he has serviced by volunteering as a Scoutmaster, as a former Huntington Beach Finance Board Member, a former Design/Review Board Member, and a former Huntington Beach Planning Commissioner.
As a Council Member, Erik serves as the liaison for the Design Review Board, 4th of July Executive Board, Wintersburg Task Force, Communications Committee, Downtown Task Force, School district/City Meeting, California Coastal Coalition Board, Visit Huntington Beach and Orange County Sanitation District. He is a member of the Huntington Beach American Legion Post 133.
Since its inception in 2016, the Homeless Task Force has had more than 1,600 occasions to assist individuals with housing referrals, mental and physical health referrals, bus passes, DMV forms, gas cards, food, mailing addresses, and family reunifications
