With intensified training and standards through P.O.S.T. Certification, today's Reserve Officers are fully equipped and trained to handle any assignment.
Becoming a Reserve Officer takes a dedicated, reliable and enthusiastic individual. The Huntington Beach Police Department wants to find applicants who have established careers in other areas of employment and who are P.O.S.T. certified. All applicants who are interested in gaining experience with a larger, progressive department can obtain an application at the location provided below.
Applicants who meet all the qualifications, successfully completes the testing process, and are selected as recruits for the Huntington Beach Police Reserve will receive additional training. This training will relate to Huntington Beach Police Department procedures in firearms, communications, Municipal Codes, and hands-on practical experience in many additional subjects.
At the end of the Reserve Recruit's training, each member will be required to complete evaluated patrol rides prior to active reserve duty.
