Economic Crimes Unit
The Economic Crimes Unit investigates crimes that involve:
- Major Fraud
- Forgery
- Financial Elder Abuse
- Thefts by Credit Card/Check
- Counterfeiting
- Non-Sufficient Fund (NSF) Checks
The Economic Crime Unit also includes the High Tech Crime Unit. The High Tech Crime Unit completes computer forensics examinations in the assistance of other investigations. The High Tech Crime Unit consists of one full time police detective and one full time civilian forensic systems specialist. They are also responsible for investigations of high tech crimes.
