Special Investigation Bureau

The Special Investigations Bureau (SIB) consists of a Sergeant and undercover detectives that work on four areas of enforcement; Vice, Narcotics, Gangs, and Criminal Apprehension.

Vice

Vice investigations involve Alcohol Beverage Control, Pornography, Internet crimes related to Pornography, Prostitution, permitting and enforcement of Bars, Massage Parlors, Escort Services, Gambling, etc.

Narcotics

SIB enforces narcotics laws, handles citizen complaints regarding narcotics, serves narcotics search warrants, and handles all narcotic related asset forfeiture. SIB relies on the citizens of Huntington Beach to provide information regarding possible narcotic activity in their neighborhoods.

Gangs

One of the missions of SIB is to focus on disrupting criminal street gangs and reducing gang crime, some of which consists of gang-related graffiti, congregating in a specific area, and engaging in a pattern of criminal activity.

If you suspect one (or more) of your Huntington Beach neighbors or businesses is involved with any of the above illegal activities, please notify the Huntington Beach Police Department Special Investigations Bureau at (714) 536-5981 or [email protected]. It is very helpful if you leave your name and phone number; however, it is not mandatory. Please include the nature of the crime, the location of your concern, and any other information you have.
