Summer Camps
It's never a dull moment at Camp HB. Discover new adventures through onsite and offsite excursions. Camp HB offers fun-filled weeks of camp, each with an exciting different theme. Campers can take advantage of the diverse activities Camp HB has to offer wiile supervised by experienced staff in a safe and fun environment. Each week is unique with theme-based excursions and fun activities.

Camp HB Descriptions
Aloha Summer:
Come join us for our first week of Camp HB! The first week will include a guided tour through Tanaka farms for our campers. They will have the opportunity to taste a variety of fruits and veggies as well as be able to pick their very own assortment of healthy and nutritious goodies to take home! We will also be going to the beach on Friday to wrap up our first week of Camp HB!
Jurassic Classic:
Take a trip to the prehistoric times this week and experience all things past and present! Our campers will head over to the Prehistoric Park in Laguna Hills to explore fossils and play. We also will be going to Cinemark Theaters to enjoy a private showing of a movie on the big screen!
Shark Fest:
Coinciding with Shark Week on TV, we will be learning about all things sharks. This JAWsome week includes a visit to Splash La Mirada, the Aquarium of the Pacific, and a trip to the beach.
Space Odyssey:
To boldly go where no one has gone before! Join us on the trek of a lifetime to the farthest galaxies and beyond. This space themed week will have your young astronaut learning about planets and stars by going on a trip to the Discovery Cube and OCC Planetarium.
Heroes of Summer:
Calling all super heroes to Camp HB! Join us this week as our campers will meet true life heroes in our community as well as the most popular super heroes from Disney and Marvel. Young heroes/heroines will get the chance to fly at Get Air and meet Fire/Marine Safety heroes at the beach.
Summer Games:
Queue the Olympic theme song! Campers will be gearing up and getting ready to compete in our very own Murdy-lympics on Friday. Leading up to the friendly competition between campers, we will head over to the bowling alley and strike out some pins at Bowlero. Campers will also get to golf at the largest miniature golf course facility in the country over at Camelot.
Animals of the World:
Love reptiles, mammals, amphibians, birds, and fish? Prepare to meet the animals in the petting zoo at the OC Fair and interact with tortoises, lizards, and snakes at the prehistoric pet show presented at Murdy!
Ocean Adventures:
Come end the summer with a trip to the beach and to SeaWorld! Our campers will enjoy jumping in the waves, building sandcastles, and learning about the wonderful world of ocean life. Touch the sharks, watch a SeaWorld show, and explore the many sea creatures that live in our oceans in the final week of Camp HB 2022!

Camp HB FAQs
- Should my child bring their own water bottle?
Yes! Please have your child bring their water bottle for camp. They can fill it up at our water refill station.
- Is lunch included?
Lunch is not provided every day at Camp HB. We do provide one snack each day.
- What happens if we arrive late and the bus has already departed?
If you cannot arrive at Murdy before the bus departs, you may drive your child directly to the offsite location to meet up with the group.
- What should my child wear to camp?
Your child should wear the bright green camp T-shirt which is provided at the start of the week. If your child needs an additional camp shirt, they are available for purchase for an additional $10.
- Will sunscreen be provided?
Spray sunscreen is provided for the campers. Please make sure you spray sunscreen on your child prior to drop off.
- Can my child bring his/her own beach toys?
Camp HB will be providing all beach toys (sand buckets, sand toys, and shovels) for beach days.
- Can my child bring spending money for field trips?
Unless stated in the “Newsletter,” please do not send your child with money for excursions.
- What’s included in the fee for the camp?
Camp HB fee covers the cost of all tickets for excursions, buses, shirts, and supplies. This also includes the food vendors that will be on-site providing food for your children on specific days in the newsletter.
- Can I pick up my child early?
On off-site days, we highly recommend that you pick up your child while they are here at Murdy after their excursion. Please do not pick up your child from an excursion. When on-site, you are more than welcome to pick up your child earlier.
- Who can pick up my child?
Authorized people to pick up your child must be listed on the emergency form. In the event that someone else needs to pick up the child, please inform the camp staff or front office staff.
- What if my child has an allergy?
Please list allergies your child is allergic to on the emergency form. All staff are CPR/AED certified if an epi-pen needs to be administrated to your child.
- What is the policy in regards to getting a refund?
A full refund minus the $6 processing fee will be given ONLY when a refund request is made a minimum of three business days in advance of the first day of camp. For example, if camp starts on Monday, a refund must be requested no later than the Wednesday prior. No refunds will be given after the timeframe above.
- Can my child have a cell phone or an electronic device during camp?
You are encouraged not to send a child to camp with a cell phone/electronic device so they may enjoy the activities we have planned for them. If they do bring a device to camp, we ask they keep it in their backpack.
- How will my child be transported to and from excursions?
All campers and staff will be transported by a school bus each week.
- What will my child be doing during on-site days?
During on-site days we will be doing crafts that correspond with the theme of the week, water games, yard games (large Connect 4 and large Jenga), and so much more!
- What’s the ratio between staff and campers?
One (1) staff member to every eight (8) children.
- Do I need to fill out forms every week if my child is enrolled in more than one week?
No, if you have no changes to your forms from the first week your child is enrolled, we will save it and re-use it.
- Will siblings be placed together if they are enrolled in the same camp?
You may request to put siblings who are very close in age in the same group. Projects and games are tailored to the age groups of the different stations throughout the day.
- Where do I find information regarding field trips?
You will receive an email the Wednesday prior to camp with the following documents “Welcome Letter,” “Disciplinary Form,” “Emergency Form,” and a “Newsletter.” The “Newsletter” will give detailed information regarding all excursions and what to bring.
