Huntington Beach’s City Council Members are part-time elected officials. If you are interested in meeting with a Council Member, please call the City Council office at (714) 536-5553 to schedule an appointment.

Please note:  All comments and messages submitted to the City Council regarding agenda items are public record.

City Council Meetings

The City Council meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. Unless otherwise announced, the meetings are held in the City Council Chambers at 2000 Main Street. Current and past meetings can be viewed on HBTV via Channel 3 or online. Additionally, the City livestreams City Council meetings on the City's Facebook, X, and YouTube.  City Council meetings are rebroadcast on HBTV daily at 6:00 p.m.

Public Comments
Public Comments occur at the beginning of the meeting. During Public Comments, anyone may address the City Council on any issue for a maximum of three minutes. Signups to request to speak at the City Council meeting will begin 30 minutes prior to the start of Study Session, Closed Session, or Regular City Council Meeting, whichever comes first. Signups will be accepted until the commencement of the public comment period.

Certificate and Proclamation Requests

If you would like to nominate someone who has gone above and beyond to receive a Mayor's Spotlight Award Certificate, please fill out the request form to request a certificate or proclamation from the City and allow four weeks from the submission date. The Mayor's Spotlight Awards take place once a month and are held at City Hall.
