How to Obtain a Library Card
  • Please bring a valid photo ID (driver's license, school ID, or government-issued card) to any Huntington Beach Public Library location. Digital or photocopies are accepted. All library cards are issued in person. A photo ID is required for all library cards.

  • Teens ages 13 - 17 may apply for a Teen Card with a valid school ID, driver's license, or government-issued ID card. When applying and signing for a Teen Card, the presence of a parent or guardian is not required.
  • Patrons without proof of address, but with a photo ID, may apply for an e-card, which provides access to the computer lab and online resources, but does not permit physical checkouts.
  • Temporary residents with out-of-state licenses can apply for a short-term visitor's card which is limited to 5 checkouts and provides access to all online resources.
