Hometown Hero Banner Program

hometown hero banner crop12The Huntington Beach Hometown Heroes Banner Program honors the brave men of women of Huntington Beach serving in the U.S. Armed Forces. This is a joint effort between the City of Huntington Beach and American Legion Post 133. The personalized banners are displayed on light poles within the city to celebrate their dedication to our country.

Fora service member to qualify, he or she must be an active member of the United States Armed Forces, be a resident of Huntington Beach, or have an immediate family member who resides in Huntington Beach (wife/husband, daughter/son, or granddaughter/grandson). Verification of qualification is required, and banners shall be displayed for a period of 12 months.  At the end of 12 months, the space will be available for a new service member. Banners will be returned to the sponsor upon retirement.  Space permitting, a banner can continue to display with qualifying requirements.

Banners cost $160 for fabrication, hardware, and installation. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis. Please see the application brochure below for more details.
