Early Riser? Come out and enjoy a bright start to your Independence Day by participating in the return of the Surf City Run 5K race at the City of Huntington Beach’s 4th of July Celebration.
This year, the race features staggered start times to ensure a smooth and socially distanced experience for runners. Registrants can choose among start times at 6:30 AM, 8:00 AM, 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM.
The 5K Run accepts registrations exclusively online, now through July 1, 2021 at 9 p.m. All online registrations will be confirmed online with a QR code sent via email. After the online cutoff, runners still have an opportunity to register onsite at the race course on July 4th. The run will take place along a pre-designed course through Huntington Central Park, starting and finishing at the Huntington Beach Central Library.
Runners are strongly encouraged to pick up their packets at the official packet event at Dick’s Sporting Goods at 7542 Edinger Avenue, on July 3, from 10 AM and 4 PM.
On July 4, runners should allow ample time to check-in, warm up, and to find their way to the starting line. Parking is available in at the Central Library parking lot at 7111 Talbert Avenue. Cars will be checked at the entrance to confirm the runner’s start time window.
Following a successful 5K run, don’t forget to join the City at its other ongoing 4th of July Celebrations, including a Pier Festival, Neighborhood Parades, and Fireworks Show. For details, visit www.hb4thofjuly.org.
Brands may also promote their businesses during this event, joining lead sponsor Pacific Paradise Pools. Other race sponsors include Huntington Surf and Sport, 5 Points Plaza and Vons/Albertsons/Pavilions. Sponsor logos will appear on HB 4th of July social media and website.
