Donna Switzer came to work as a Passport Agent in the City Clerk’s office in May of 2015. From the day she arrived, Donna’s intelligence and personality helped support the office goals of providing excellent customer service to citizens who visit our facility to obtain a passport.
In addition, Donna quickly demonstrated leadership and embraced the passport process by educating herself on the Department of State rules and regulations that are required to be followed by all Passport Agents. The entire staff goes to Donna when they have a passport question.
Donna was eager to learn about the services the Clerk’s office provides to City Council, staff and citizens; and in July of 2017, she successfully competed and was appointed as a full time Deputy City Clerk. She is now a key member of the City Clerk’s department handling: City Council followup, public notification including advertising for opening of construction bid contracts, notarizations, electronic recording of documents with the County of Orange Recorder’s Office, and responding to request for public records by staff and the public, to name a few of her duties.
The City Clerk’s office has received numerous letters and phone calls from citizens wishing to commend Donna for the warm, yet professional service she provided them. She is a true asset to both the City and the City Clerk’s office.
Donna obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, Fullerton and is very near completion of receiving her Certified Municipal Clerk designation.
When not at work, Donna enjoys reading, gardening, camping, road trips and spending time with family – especially her new, five-month old grandson, Sid.
