KaBOOM! to Build New Playground at Oak View Feb. 27
posted on 02/22/2019.

Approximately 200 volunteers from the City of Huntington Beach, Children’s Bureau, Yokohama Tire and KaBOOM! will build a new playground (with eco-friendly equipment) at Oak View Park, 17261 Oak Lane.

Wed., Feb. 27, 8 a.m.-3 p.m.

Best viewing of playground construction:

11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Ribbon-cutting ceremony: 2:30 p.m. to

3 p.m.

The new playground will bring more than 2,500 kids in Huntington Beach one step closer to having the play-filled childhood they deserve. In building this play space together, Yokohama, the City of Huntington Beach, Children’s Bureau of Orange County and KaBOOM! are making it easier for all kids to get the play they need to grow up happy and healthy, which is central to a child’s ability to grow into a productive adult.

Solar chimneys are passive solar ventilation systems. Shafts connect the interior and exterior of the building. The functioning can be improved by glazing and using thermal mass materials.  Learn more about solar.
