April Mayor's Award - Steve Eros, HBFD
posted on 04/18/2018.

Steve Eros has been with the Huntington Beach Fire Department as a Fire Protection Analyst since September 2014. He came to the City after seven years as a fire safety specialist for the UC Irvine campus.

Steve’s job requires him to review a wide range of residential, commercial, and industrial plans and specifications for compliance with fire codes, standards, and city ordinances. He reviews fire protection system plans such as fire alarms, fire sprinklers, and professional kitchen hood extinguishing systems for compliance with California Fire code and national standards.

He has a BA in Environmental Analysis & Design from UCI and an AA in Fire Protection Technology. He has extensive technical knowledge and many credentials from organizations including, the International Code Council and the Office of State Fire Marshal.

Steve received this honor for who he is at his core: a genuinely professional, hard-working, friendly, outgoing, universally-respected, and positive attitude guy. Everyone he interacts with, including Fire Department staff, other City department staff, design professionals, and the development community shares in these sentiments.

He works hard to establish great relationships with design and development professionals. He is always open for conversation and consultations.  Steve remains flexible, yet firm where he needs to be. Congratulations, Steve, on your achievement!
