Tung has been employed with the City for 20 years. He began his career with the Police Department in 1997 as an information network specialist and then joined the Information Services Department in 2004 when he was promoted to the Information Systems Analyst IV position.
Tung is responsible for managing the development, maintenance and user support for emergency IT operation in the Police Department. This includes Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), Records Management Systems (RMS), Mobile Computers in Police cars and many other mission-critical public safety systems.
Tung also manages Information Services after hours support services for public safety systems and represents the Information Service Department with other agencies, including the Department of Justice and the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
Throughout his career with the City, Tung has worked on many important projects such as Y2K upgrade, implementation and upgrade of the police computer aided dispatch and records management software system.
Tung’s commitment to the City and knowledge of public safety systems makes him a unique asset to the City. It is with great pleasure to recognize Tung for this award.
