Kimberly De Coite started with the City in 2006 in the Community Services Department. Two years later, she came to the Department of Community Development and was promoted in 2010 as the Department’s Administrative Assistant because she is hard working, dependable, and a dedicated employee.
In her position, she has numerous responsibilities and weekly deadlines that she juggles to keep the department organized and moving forward with calendaring, distribution of public information, and supervising three clerical staff. Kimberly is responsible for Planning Commission agenda distributions, public hearing notices, minutes, email notices, and action letters. Last year more than 60,000 public hearing notices were mailed out meeting state-mandated requirements.
Kimberly is extremely knowledgeable about the department and what other departments do too. She is the department 'expert' at timekeeping, personnel rules, payroll, and more -- all the behind the scenes things that make the department function efficiently and effectively.
Kimberly strives for excellence, seeking perfection in all her work. And she accomplishes tasks efficiently and fast. One manager commented that she is, “lickety quick!”
Kimberly is always willing to step in and assist with last minute requests and unusual problems. She is proactive in solving issues and making suggestions for improvement.
As a side note, when she is not working she enjoys spending time with her cats, traveling, and likes to attend Comic-Con conventions. Kimberly is an invaluable member of the department and to the city as a whole.
Congratulations Kimberly in receiving this award!
