The City is responsible for effective operation of traffic signals and lighting for pedestrian and vehicular activity.  Traffic signal maintenance includes preventive maintenance, emergency response, new construction inspection, minor construction/improvements, citizen request/service request response and the operation of signal communication systems for the City’s 124 traffic signals.

The Traffic Signal and Lighting Maintenance section provides 24-hour stand-by service in response to accidents/traffic signal equipment damage and malfunctions.



The City of Huntington Beach has over 14,000 street lights maintained by either the City, Southern California Edison, or the City's street light maintenance contractor, Siemens Industry, Inc. To report a need for street light repairs, please contact our street light maintenance contractor and they will ensure the request is reported to the proper entity for maintenance:
