The Consul General of Japan paid a Surf City visit to this historic piece of property that is danger of being demolished. The Wintersburg Preservation Task Force, a HB City Council ad hoc committee showed the 5 acre site to Consul General and members of two other organizations in hopes to raise awareness and money to save or relocate the buildings.

It’s more than golf. It’s about the ties that join the charity KinderVision, The Greatest Save, with Major League Baseball, The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and with Huntington Beach, when it comes to protecting children from many issues concerning child abduction, molestation and drugs. Headed by Baseball’s Hall of Famer Rollie Fingers, this baseball star-studded event is one to see the greats, and think about protecting our youth.

The series of events of 911 are still vivid memories for many, and for the Huntington Beach Police Officer’s Association as well as our Fire Fighters Association – it’s a personal one, with roots that go back to December of 2001. This fundraising activity at the Hyatt Regency Resort, leads the effort to build a memorial at City Hall. 911 family survivors, elected officials, sponsors and community fundraising volunteers came together February 10 for a somber, poignant and fun evening of reflection and action
