The Newland House Museum is the oldest
residence built in the City of Huntington
Beach. The Huntington Beach Historical
Society maintains the museum for all to enjoy
for years to come. The Newland House was
built in 1898 for Huntington Beach pioneers
William and Mary Newland and their ten
children. The original Newland Ranch
extended from Beach Boulevard to Magnolia
Street and from Yorktown Avenue south to
Atlanta Avenue, for a total of 500+ acres. At
that time, the Newland family planted lima
beans, sugar beets, celery and later chili
peppers. The house is open to the public for
tours.
