The Community Services Department provides a variety of programs and operates the Senior Center in Central Park including the Hoag Health and Wellness Pavilion and the Social Services Resouce Center. Other activities include youth sports, adult sports, which consists of men, coed, and seniors softball and soccer teams, clubhouse rentals, and the annual Fourth of July Celebration. This division also provides staff assistance for many boards and commissions, including the Children's Needs Task Force, Fourth of July Board, Human Relations Task Force, Oak View Task Force, Sister City Association, Youth Board, and Council on Aging.

The Huntington Beach Fire Department conducts free home fire safety inspections for seniors. You can also get a free smoke detector with a 10 year battery and carbon monoxide detector installed. This free service is provided by Project SHIP senior home inspection program volunteers. You can schedule an appointment online or call 714-374-1615.
