Biography
In November of 2000, the people of Huntington Beach elected Jennifer McGrath as their City Attorney.
In 1996, Ms. McGrath began her career with Huntington Beach as a Deputy City Attorney. While at that position, Jennifer established relationships with city members and officials that allowed her to improve service levels to the City Council.
Jennifer earned a B.A. in political science at the University of California at Los Angeles. Following that, she graduated in the top 5% of her class at McGeorge School of Law.
McGrath has set many goals for the City Attorney's office. She has streamlined the City Attorney's office and restructured staffing levels that resulted in an increase in the City's efficiency. Also, by using a team-oriented effort towards litigation, many frivolous lawsuits have been solved before becoming a burden on taxpayers. Jennifer has also created a more open and accessible City Attorney's office by improving communications between the City and its residents.
