Who can use the wireless network?
Answer:

It is open to anyone who has a laptop with a wireless card and wireless software installed. PDA users will not be able to connect to this wireless network.

What is the SSID (service set identifier) for the Huntington Beach Council Chambers wireless network?
Answer:
The SSID is hbcityhall

Question:
What is the SSID (service set identifier) for the Huntington Beach Library wireless network?
Answer:
The library has two SSIDs: hblibrary, kids

Question:
Are there any security settings necessary to connect to the wireless network?

Answer:
No security settings are necessary to connect to the wireless network.

Question:
What are the types of wireless cards supported?
Answer:
Most cards running wireless protocol 802.11b and 802.11g (note: Super G is not supported.)

Question:
Will 802.11a be supported?
Answer:
There is currently no support for this wireless protocol.

Question:
What services will I be able to use on the Internet?
Answer:
The only services available are HTTP and HTTPS.

Question:
Is my computer secure while it is connected to the wireless network?
Answer:
There should be no presumption of security for the wireless network at city hall or at the library. This is dependent upon the security software on your laptop.
