City Treasurer Shari Freidenrich was elected to a 4 year term in November 1996, re-elected to a second 4 year term in November 2000, re-elected to her third 4 year term in November 2004 and re-elected to her fourth 4 year term in November 2008. Shari is currently serving as Treasurer for the Association of Public Treasurers and is a Past President of the California Municipal Treasurer's Association. Prior to her appointment to the position of City Treasurer, Freidenrich served as a Controller for McDonnell Douglas Travel Company, a division of the former McDonnell Douglas Corporation (now Boeing Corporation), which had sales in excess of $130 million from 1994 to 1996. She also worked for McDonnell Douglas Corporation as an Auditing Specialist from 1988 to 1994. She started her career with Deloitte & Touche, an international accounting firm, and left as a manager in 1988. She holds a Bachelors Degree from Washington State University in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting and passed the CPA exam on her first time while in college. Freidenrich and her husband Clive live in Huntington Beach. Shari is active in many community service groups including the Rotary Club of Huntington Beach, Soroptimist Club of Huntington Beach and the Chamber of Commerce.
