Public Comments - the Public Works Commission welcomes public comments on all items on this agenda or of community interest.  Three minutes per person, time may not be donated to others.  Commission on this date can take no action on any item not on the agenda.  This is the time to address Commission regarding items of interest or agenda items other than public hearings.  Communications on agenda items will be scheduled such that public comments may be received as close to 5:00 p.m. as possible.

F. INFORMATION ITEMS

F-1  Active Capital Project Report - An update on active capital projects is presented for the Commission's information.  Project information, including description, location maps and funding sources can be found in the FY 2009/10 Capital Improvement Program notebook, or on the city's website under Government, Current Budget information.

F-2. Upcoming City Council Study Sessions - The City Council conducts public Study Sessions on the evenings of City Council meetings, normally beginning at 4:00 p.m., in Room B-8. A tentative listing of upcoming sessions is submitted for the Commission's information.

G. ADMINISTRATIVE ITEMS

G-1. Sewer Service Charge - The Huntington Beach Municipal Code requires an annual adjustment to the Sewer Service Charge. The Commission's concurrence is requested in recommending the proposed charge for City Council approval.

Funding Source - Estimated service charge revenue for 2010-11 is $10.76 million.

Recommended Action. Motion to recommend that the Committee approve the proposed sewer charge adjustment.

G-2. Water Well 10 Rehabilitation - Plans and specifications for the Water Well No. 10 Rehabilitation project are in final preparation. Staff is seeking support for the project and the initiation of the competitive bid process.

Funding Source - Funds in the amount of $600,000 from the Water Fund will be budgeted in the Capital Improvement Program next fiscal year.

Recommended Action - Motion to recommend CC-1380, Water Well No. 10 Rehabilitation Project to City Council.

G-3 - CC-1375, Trinidad Lane Water Main Replacement - Plans and specifications for the Trinidad Lane Bridge Waterline Replacement Project are in final preparation. Staff is seeking support for the project and the initiation of the competitive bid process.

Funding Source – Funds in the amount of $150,000 from the Water Fund will be budgeted in the Capital Improvement Program next fiscal year.

Recommended Action - Motion to recommend CC-1375, Trinidad Lane Bridge Waterline Replacement Project to City Council.

G-4. Infrastructure Fund Annual Report for Fiscal Year 2009/10 - The City Charter requires an annual review and performance audit of the Infrastructure Fund, and a report of the findings to the City Council. This review covers fiscal year (FY) 2009/10.

Funding Source - Infrastructure Fund No. 314

Recommended Action - Motion to recommend to the City Council the Infrastructure Fund Annual Report

G-5. - FY 2010/11 Capital Improvement Program proposed FY 2010/11 - Capital Improvement Program presented on June 16, has been amended to include an additional street study grants. 

Funding Source - As indicated on the projects.

Recommended Action - Motion to recommend to the City Council the Fiscal Year 2010/11 Capital Improvement Program.
