The public is invited to a community workshop on Sat., Sept. 16 from 9am to noon at the Senior Center in Central Park to hear the pros and cons of short term rentals. In attendance at this panel workshop will be representatives from AirBnB, local cities, community development leaders, attorneys to address legal issues, short term rental operators and others to hear both sides of the positive and negatives of short term rentals.
Short-term vacation rentals have become very popular in the last few years. What homeowners and citizens should know is that within the City of Huntington Beach, vacation rentals are currently prohibited. Short-term vacation rentals are defined as any residence rented for a term of less than thirty (30) consecutive days. The commercial operation of a short-term vacation rental in single-family and multiple-family zones is not permitted under the Huntington Beach Zoning and Subdivision Ordinance. The city will reevaluate the restrictions on short-term vacation rentals.
