Construction of the Edinger Avenue Bridge replacement is well underway and pile driving activities are necessary. Piles are long poles made of steel and are driven into the soil beneath a bridge until the end of the pile reaches a hard layer of compacted material or rock. Bridge piles serve as support for the bridge deck load and are extremely important for the integrity of a bridge. This portion of pile driving is necessary for construction of a temporary access bridge in the project area.
Work will require temporary lane closures. OCPW traffic control safety measures will be initiated to ensure the safety of all motorists, pedestrians and bicyclists. Bicyclist & pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
The pile driving will continue intermittently from July 2017 through Fall 2017, Monday - Friday from 7 a.m.—5:30 p.m.
