Carol Rossi joined the City 11 years ago in July of 2006 as an Accounting Technician II. Initially, Carol trained as a cashier and quickly became our most proficient staff person on the counter. She has acted as a trainer for new part-time cashiers, and moved on to be a leader to both part-time and full-time cashiers.
After mastering the counter, Carol moved to support the ever-busy Accounts Receivable function. This is a very complex function supporting all departments in the City. Carol was then trained as a back-up in the City’s cash vault. This is a very high-paced and demanding position, especially in the busy summer months. Carol went on to learn the back-office remittance processing of all the payments coming in via mail. She is virtually the only member of the cashiering division who can perform all daily operational functions, covering for vacations and trouble-shooting daily payment balancing and reconciliation issues. Carol is a self-starter and always anticipates work that needs to be done without being told.
In addition, Carol is an important member of the implementation team for the City’s new water billing and cashiering systems. She will continue to train staff on new processes and be a resource for system testing and implementation.
