Pee Wee / Junior League Basketball

 

Pee Wee Basketball

Pee Wee basketball is a non-competitive introduction to basketball for youth between the ages of 3 and 5 years old. Participants will learn basketball techniques, basic rules of the game and to have fun while playing sports. Participants will not only learn to play basketball but will also strengthen social skills by interacting with their coaches and teammates. All players will be placed on a team and will receive a team jersey. Sign-ups will begin on May 31, 2011 and continue on a daily basis until the first day of the program June 25, 2011or until leagues are filled (limited availability).

Pee Wee Basketball will be held at 9:30 AM beginning June 25 at Murdy Community Center and the City Gym and Pool.

 

Junior Basketball

Junior basketball is a semi-competitive introduction to basketball for youth in 1st or 2nd grades. Participants will learn fundamental basketball techniques, basic rules of the game and the importance of sportsmanship. Participants will not only learn how to play basketball but will also strengthen social skills by interacting with their coaches and teammates. All players will be placed on a team and will receive a team jersey.

Weeks one through three will consist of exercises designed to increase knowledge and skill. The final three weeks will consist of actual games. Sign-ups will begin on May 31, 2011 and will continue on a daily basis until the first day of the program June 25, 2011 or until leagues are filled (limited availability).

D League Basketball will be held at 10:30 AM beginning June 25 at Murdy Community Center and the City Gym and Pool.
