During regular library hours the Reference Desk is primarily staffed by professional librarians available to assist patrons in person or over the phone with their inquiries. Librarians offer research suggestions, assist with searching our databases, reader's advisory, assist in using our reference materials and help in finding books.

The Reference Desk is located on the main level of the Central Library near the Computer Lab. In addition to an extensive reference collection, there are special collections for Law, Business and Careers. In the Careers area there is a dedicated job kiosk available to browse and apply for jobs.

Our Reference Librarians have compiled a list of useful reference website resources. In addition, they have created suggested reading lists and reading recommendation resources. Also, many frequently asked questions about the community can be found in a searchable online community information file database.

Reference Services also hosts annual summer reading programs for young adults and adults. Teens win prizes and the adults compete for gift baskets for doing what they love to do:
