Newly received documents may temporarily be kept at the Central Library Circulation Desk before being transferred to the 4th Floor. A select number of older print environmental reports of continued local interest like Bolsa Chica are also available at Central Library's 4th Floor Periodicals area.

A comprehensive collection of all environmental reports is available at the Planning Department. Older reports are available on microfilm, which can be viewed on site. The Planning Department's phone number is (714) 536-5271 and their current hours of operation are available on their website.

The City Clerk's Office also retains any environmental reports tied to a land use project that goes before the City Council (master plans, specific plans, general plan, general map or zoning text amendments, etc.) These are permanent records.
